What is LIFE - Third Countries?

What is LIFE?

Life is a financial instrument that supports European Community environmental policy and legislation, covering three thematic components: LIFE-Environment, LİFE-Nature and LIFE-Third Countries.

Life co-finances environmental actions that contribute to the implementation, updating and development of Community environment policy and of environmental legislation, in particular as regards to integration of environment into other policies, and to sustainable development in the Community. Whilst all three components aim to prove the environment, each has its own individual priorities and each has its own brochure.

Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs) which have signed association agreements with the European Community and declared their intention of participating in LIFE activities can apply to LIFE-Environment and LIFE nature. Applications should be based on the financial conditions referred to in the Additional Protocols to the association agreements concerning participation in Community Programs and on the criteria defined for European Union Member States.
